A May 1999 paper entitled Referenced Standards and Objective-based Codes (PDF - 10 KB), written for the CCBFC by Canadian Codes Centre centre staff at the NRC Institute for Research in Construction, examines the implications of code references to v arious standards when they include requirements that address objectives beyond those in the codes.
